Bands from all sections took their test pieces out for a dry run at the contest and also had to play a march.

Saints played Triptych by Philip Sparke in preparation for the 2nd section contest with the LSC later in the month, and also the march Senator by George Allan.

Playing 3rd on the day, the band under John Watts had a long wait for the result and were not expecting to get an overall result of 3rd place, placing ahead of another championship section and 1st section bands! This also meant that we were the highest place 2nd section band on the day.
